“A landing net is one of my stillwater essentials. Stillwater trout in productive lakes have a reputation for reaching large sizes. To safely land and release large trout you need a solid wooden landing net. I never leave home without my Moby. The Whale is probably my favorite style in the Moby line although they all look great. Once a trout is landed the Moby proves its value. Due to Moby’s wood construction I can leave the net floating beside my boat leaving both hands free to manage the fish. With both hands free a trout can be revived and released without the distraction of losing the net. If I want to photograph the fish I leave the fish in the net boat side, free to rest and recover. Once I have my camera ready I can get my shot with minimal risk to the fish. You also get an added benefit when using your net as part of your background. A trout photographed against a Moby simply looks better!”

My wife gave me a Moby Crane for Christmas 2 years ago. She didn’t get it inked at the time, but I called Don and arranged to drop off the net and get my name inked on the shaft. When I went to pick up the net, Don invited me in and took me on a tour of his shop where there were dozens and dozens of nets, all models, in various states of finish. The tour was a great little added value to an already incredible product. Since then, I have purchased another Moby (a Whale) for a good fiend’s 40th birthday. I can’t say enough about Don’s service and of course, the nets themselves are both functionally and esthetically without rival.
